Shortpath has deployed a newly updated notification feature specifically for the DSS which helps keep everybody in the loop.

Here's how it works:

On the DSS, a "Notifications" section will appear on the right side of the screen in the New Delivery Form page.

Users now have the option to notify other group members on the status of an expected delivery, by simply selecting group member names from a drop down menu. Notifications can be selected by checking off the desired status update, with options such as sending notifications when the delivery is scheduled, arrived, checked in, checked out, changed, or canceled.

Similar to "cc-ing" somebody in an email, a copy of the message, or in this case delivery update, is sent to an address other than the main delivery scheduler.

If a user wishes to notify a co-worker who is not presently a member of the DSS, they can enter the non- member email address in a free-text field.
